The 12th Annual ‘Drawing Discourse’ International Exhibition of Contemporary Drawing opened virtually this year (due to the pandemic). Organized by the Department of Art & Art History at UNC Asheville, the show was guest curated by artist Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum who chose a total of 120 works from over 1,900 entries submitted by artists from 11 countries. Please view the exhibition and curator’s statement here.
I am honored to have my drawing “A Little Ripped & Torn” included in the exhibition and in the beautifully designed and produced catalogue. The catalogue is available for purchase – and/or to page through virtually – here.
“How has your world been affected by this “SHIFT” in our lives? The work of selected mid-Atlantic artists will answer this question on July 15, when McLean Project for the Arts opens SHIFT, MPA’s first online exhibition. Juried by Henry L. Thaggert and Sarah Tanguy, SHIFT runs through August 27, 2020.”
Join us virtually for SHIFT, two exhibits drawn from the same pool of works addressing the concept of “shift, change or exchange, in paradigm, position, direction, tendency, viewpoint, atmosphere, needs, dreams, schedules, interactions, environment, perspective . . .”
I am happy that Untitled (With Circuit Board) is included in this online show. Thank you to the jurors and McLean Project for the Arts for making this opportunity possible during these challenging times.

“Welcome to the concrete jungle! First germinated in Norway, then sprouted in the Netherlands, The Collage Garden group is excited to grow the next international collage garden in the beautiful 6BC Botanical Garden in the East Village of New York City. Garden-themed collages from all over the world were sent for display through the grounds to bring art to the community. A collage workshop will take place during the day. Funds raised by the group will go to support the community garden. *Rain date is May 20th.”
